Frequently asked
Is this a replacement for speech therapy?
No. Tadpole Talk is a home-practice companion to be used alongside therapy directed by a qualified speech pathologist. It does not diagnose or treat anything. Always check new targets and techniques with your therapist.
How should we practise?
Little and often. A few minutes several times a day helps far more than one long session. Aim for a handful of successful attempts and keep it light and fun — stop while your child is still enjoying it.
How do I set this week's words?
Open the Targets tab, then tap the star next to any word to add it to this week's set. Those words appear on the Today screen and in practice. You can add your own words with the + button.
How do I share progress with our therapist?
On the Progress tab, tap Export for your therapist. You'll get a one-page PDF summary and a CSV of every practice attempt, which you can email or show at your next appointment.
Are the hand cues and signs the official ones?
The app ships its own original, plain-language explanations and diagrams. It is not affiliated with Cued Articulation or Key Word Sign. For the exact cues and signs your therapist uses, follow their demonstration — and use the app to remember and practise them between sessions.
Where is my data stored?
Only on your device. There's no account and nothing is uploaded. See the privacy policy for details.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone and iPad running iOS / iPadOS 17 or later.
